How to give yourself the Max + Jane Signature Facial

There is a certain magic to spending time at home. It's an opportunity to turn inward, to listen to our bodies, and to prioritize our health and wellbeing. We love to spend this time cooking, practicing yoga, and giving ourselves the Max + Jane Signature Facial at least once a week (although lately it's been twice).

The Max + Jane Signature Facial:
 
  1. Set the mood! Light candles, set up your crystals on your bathroom counter, put on some music, whatever makes you feel calm and relaxed. You can even do steps 1-4 in the bath :)  
  2. Wet face with warm water and massage 2 pumps of Max + Jane Transilience Calming Cleanser all over for 60 seconds. Rinse.
  3. On damp skin, massage a tablespoon amount of Tourmaline Exfoliant into your face and neck, avoiding eye area. 
    1. Start in the center of your forehead using your middle and forefinger to massage in small circular motions, making your way out to the temples. Move to your cheeks, around your nose, and along your jawline and neck.
    2. Once the product is massaged into your skin, let it sit for 5-10 minutes. I love doing this in the bath and letting it sit while I soak. 
    3. Rinse and pat your skin dry with a clean washcloth. 
  4. On dry skin, apply a tablespoon of honey using your fingers. Let sit for 5-10 minutes. Honey has amazing softening and anti-microbial properties so it’s great for all skin types, including acne-prone skin. Rinse with warm water to completely dissolve the honey and pat dry.
  5. Optional: mist your face with Max + Jane Gentle Everyday Toner or a pure rosewater spray. 
  6. Optional: gently apply Max + Jane Eye Nutrient around your orbital bone using your ring finger. 
  7. Apply half to one full dropper of Max + Jane Skin Nutrient or Golden Pore to your palms. Warm between your hands and massage into your skin. Add more or less as needed, depending on how much oil your skin absorbs. 
      1. Start in the center of your forehead using your middle and forefinger to massage in small circular motions, making your way out to the temples and pausing. Take a deep breath while you apply gentle pressure to your temples.
      2. Use your thumb and forefinger to gently pinch your eyebrows starting in the center and working your way to the temples. 
      3. Use your forefingers to massage between your brows (picture yourself ironing out the vertical wrinkles between your brows, called “11’s”)
      4. Straighten your middle and forefinger and apply a rolling motion from your jawline to the top of your cheekbone. Repeat, increasing in pressure, for 20 seconds on each side. 
      5. Use your thumb and forefinger to gently pinch your jaw, starting at your chin and making your way to your ears. Repeat 2-3 times on each side. 
      6. Use your middle and ring finger to massage your chin and around your mouth to release the pressure that we hold there. 
      7. Straighten your middle and forefinger and apply a gentle rolling motion from your jawline to your collarbone. 
      8. Massage excess oil into your neck, shoulders, and hands.
      9. Finish with Max + Jane Lip Nutrient or Golden Word and bask in your glow!
